my turn to rant...
in just the last few days ive had several people pull bonehead manuvers in thier cars right in front of me, seriously putting me in jepardy on my motorcycle and in my car. im a pretty observant driver and was taught to drive defensively, so ive managed to avoid accidents. i do, however honk my horn as a warning and to tell them that "hey! your doing something really dumb there." what pisses me off, is they give me the finger. THEY have done something illegal, stupid and life threatening, and the have the nerve to shoot me the bird!? WTF? i seriously think i should hit the next asshat that does something like that. i know its thier fault, the cops will see its thier fault, and ill get a nice paycheck out of it. maybe not. update... its been a while
ok- so may came and went- another year older, and not really a big deal. we celebrated my b-day, mothers day, and our 1st anniversary all on the same weekend (wyllot got me some beautiful dragon goblets for out anniversary- i picked her up a snoopy watch , and of course the concert next month) my dad came down for breannas graduation, and stayed at my place with bro mike. all in all it was quite pleasant, and i wouldnt mind doin it again. and last sat. wyllow and i attended the "zombie party" at the castle... it was fun- esspecially since i got to get all made up- i love doin the make-up for that shit- and wyllow was a little freaked out, cuz- well... zombies freak her out. but she acquiested to make-up, and by the time the evening got started, was wishing i had done more of it for her. i think she's comming around to the dark side.... muuhahahaha! not much on the horizon... hopefully, wyllows 13 yo goes back to N. carolina with her dad. that girl is MORE than a handfull, and is costing her mom a fortune just trying to cover her screw ups in school. but thats not really my biz, except for the fact that i get to hear all the fall out. all in all- it would be best for all involved if she went back to NC and stayed there for a while. she needs smoe serious discapline and supervision, and with her mom working 2 jobs to make ends meet, the girl aint getting it here. ok- back to werk- keepin busy and hoping the summer doesnt slow down too badly. geek extraordinaire
ok- im a dork. i dug deep and spent a buttload of cash on my gf for our first anniversary. she really deserves it though. shes so patient and stable, and keeps me happy. so, i bought us 2 VIP tix for the upcomming def leppard/ journey concert. i know , i know. dorkie. but you gotta know, shes a HUGE journey fan. i held out for as long as i could, and finally told her about it today. she sooooooo excited. i was worried she wouldnt be all that thrilled, but i had my fears put to rest tonight. itll be great- seats in the first 6 rows- backstage all access passes- vip seating and parking- and 2 really terrific bands with about 5 hours of hits all night. i think i outdid myself- hee hee hee. its been non-stop biz at work. since all the other framers have gone outta business, i am THE frame guy to see in dunedin. (im NOT bitchin', but DAYUM im tired!) i got 2 of the downed biz's to send me all of thier customers, and im getting referals from the fantasy art booth at the ren-faire (i met with the sales gal last weekend, and she was cool with pimping my biz ). i just took the old artist down- put a new artist up- have to prep for the reception next week- gotta take wyllow to see sisters of mercy friday- and am working the faire this weekend to boot. busy-busy-busy! i also spent last weekend making wyllows costume for ren-faire (she was infering that she'd never had one- so i threw one together for her- aint i a sweetie?) i cant WAIT for april so i can spend a few days in my cabin... hot tub- here i come! hmmm... updates.
lesseeee.... its been a crazy couple of weeks... last weekend wyllow and i made plans to go out to the "hastle", and out of nowhere my sister calls up and tells me she and her family are on thier way over to visit, and she's bringing dinner. i didnt mine so much, but i could tell wyllow was disappointed to not make it out. all in all- it was a nice visit, my sis brought chili, and we all played pool all night. plus i got to talk to my nephew about a few things that were coming up...so that was good. then- thursday i got an odd phonecall frome the gal working for the business/ competition down the street. she told me she was sending a customer my way, and i asked her what for...she replyed that she was leaving and not coming back because... she had been surfing on the owners computer at work and found some "offensive stuff". she turned him in and the police came and confiscated the computer and took him to jail. i know of only one thing that can get you arrested like that. the next day this guy calls me and (though tears) tells me that he's shutting his doors and puuting up a sign, sending his customers to my place. it's a odd turn of events, but now im the only one of my business in the area. hopefully , i can turn this into a good thing. as for sat night- wyllow and i decided to celebrate v-day early (cus we cant see each other on tuesday, and her b-day is next week).i gave her a frame, uncut sheet of collectable snoopy trading cards from the 70's that i found at the toy convention. she was pissed cuz we wernt supposed to get each other anything, but im stoopid that way. i think i may have finally broke the curese of v-day ( most of you know ive NEVER had a good one) and we spent a romantic evening making dinner (i set up a fondue table, with chocolate fondue for desert.mmmmm)and i intoduced her to the movie "tank girl". ( i dont think ive ever seen her laugh that hard) and we played strip pool for the rest of the evening.i think we both won. :) next weekend is her b-day, and i already got tix to go see sisters of mercy on march 3rd for us, but i also picked her up something special as a gift(no- im not gonna say what it is, just in case she reads this) also , ren season is upon us- so im making her a leather corset out of the scraps i have left from my kilt. i love/hate this season...love to hit the faires, see my friends... hate having to run all over the place for the next 3 months. im usually exhausted by may. ta daaaa! (part 2)
well- its finally completed! i found some very cool material at th fabric store and spent all day making and hanging the curtains in the backporch...so my billiard room is done. i found this great off-white sheer material with thin silver spiderwebbing all through it, and it happened to be just 10 yards, AND ...it was 50% off! so i got it all for $18... not a bad cost for a LOT of curtains. i tried pricing it out with normal curtains, and THAT wasnt gonna happen. so- now on to the next project, whatever that is. tired...
this week has ebnn a killer- i got a last minute order on monday night which needed to get delivered and hung on thursday, so i needed to get the prints made (photographed and printed) the moulding and mats delivered (overnight express, which costs a bundle) and the work cranked out in a 2 day period. i got the orders placed and confirmed tuesday and then hadt to run home to meet the delivery guy for my pool table. when i got there i realized i forgot my house key, so i had to break into my own place (no, im not telling you all how, duh)and just as i got in, he shoed up. fortunatly he helped me carry the 500 lb. box into the house (which he's not obliged to do, but i was greatful he did) i got motivated and built the table right there and then, took about 2 hours. ran back to work in time to deal with more customers and stuffs. got up early wednesday to meet the ups driver, and get started on the project. wouldnt you know, this is the day that all the lookie loos decide to gome in and just want to chat. i was rather short but firm with them that i didnt have the time for this crap right now, but none of them would take a fucking clue. so i wasted about 2 1/2 hours with that nonesense. finally got the ball rolling and my employee was nice enuf to come in and start on the assembly wed. instead of thurs. so we were a day ahead of schedule. got home around 7:30 and played pool all night, thursday morn i had an eye dr. appointment (yes, the eyes just keep improving. YEA!) and got into werk to finish up the project. at noon i called the customer, made arrangements to deliver and hang at 2, and finished the job around 5. i of course hit gridlocked traffic heading back, and didnt get home till close to 7. by then i was done in, but... the total on the bill was $3300, AND the customer wants more done for the same condo...cha ching! its definatly a love/hate week. love the money, hate the running around. lets hope it continues. anticipation.....
its amazing how motivated i get after making a final decision to do something- i finally decided to buy a pool table friday. setting this in motion i set my sites on the backporch sunday. i spent all day clearing, cleaning, throwing out, rearranging, painting, moving overhead lighting, and generally preping the room for readiness of the coming table. im ALMOST there- just another coat of paint on the walls (it was so cold that the paint is taking forever to dry) and i need to find a cool material so i can make curtains. the table is scheduled to arrive next week. i cant wait! ahhh, new years....
for the second year in a row i get to host the stumbling dragon inne spectacular known as NEY YEARS EVE. its a lot of work, and fun, and since its been moved, substantially drama free. ill be up late preping the piggie my buddy bryan procured for us- and ill be up early to get it on the smoker and keep the flavor running over it till party time. ill also be cleaning, but its ok, my house needs it anyway, so its a good excuse. im expecting more ppl than last year, so we may have upwards of 30 ppl coming tomorrow...i hope they dont ALL plan on spending the night, it may get cramped in my little house. lol. weather looks great, so im sure we'll all be situated outside round the bonfire, eating, drinking, chatting up old times. should be fun. feels so good to give....
went to the dunedin toys for tots bike run today. the weather was quite over cast and threatened to rain, but wyllow and i took the risk and brought our donations anyway. i didnt see anyone from the castle there- but my gf and i had a really nice day. over 1500 bikes on the road- along with 5 trailers full of BRAND NEW bicycles for the kids ( estimate about 250 bikes) and when we got to the foriegn legion post- the band there was acctually pretty good. the rain rolled in around 2ish, and put an early end to an otherwise nice foggy day. i wish i could have given more- maybe next year wont be so tight with the monies. i was up late/early...dont know why. but i looked in my back yard and the moon was SO bright it looked like daylight out there. i pulled out my telescope and focused on it. it was awesome. i could see craters and the sea of tranquility and lots of stuff. i havent done this in years. its was too pretty for words. wish wyllow was here to see it. shes a sucker romantic shit like this...lol. work has literally exploded... ive got aproximatly $10 of business sitting in my shop and its still rolling in. im also trying to put together the next art show- and take some time out to join a couple of toy runs with some other biker buddies of mine. and im coordinating the new years party at my place for about 40 people. and still maintain some semblance of a social life with my gf (as she is also busy as hell holding down 2 jobs and keeping her kids in line) thank god i got all my x-mas shopping done before thanksgiving- at least i dont have to deal with that craziness. all in all- im beat. but way happy about it. bestest new years EVER!
my brother just called me ( he works for daily aluminum) with a gift. one of his clients ( with more money than sense) offered him his hottub. its very new, but isnt the color his wife likes ... so he want to "get rid of it " before the new one arrives. so , my bro calls me up all excited, and tells me its mine for the taking, all i gotta do is pick it up. im making arrangements now- i should have it by this weekend, and be soaking by next weekend. the new years party this year will be quite relaxing... spent the last week catching up on the workload, which keeps rolling in (ya, i know, poor poor me ;) ) and then spent all weekend working the pirate fest with gary and cheryl, which is a lot of fun, but 12 hour days are brutal...especially when im supposed to have them off. and then back to work monday. im exhausted. but im making monies, so ill stop bitchin. i also saw gabe saturday- he looked good, and acctually happy for the first time in a long time. i wonder why. hmmmm? anyhoo- no details- just a random btch and now ill try getting sleep again. night all. ahhhhh!
just got back last night from spending 3 days in blue ridge, ga. with my gf and some of my pals. we hit the mountain at the peak of autumn. the leaves were on fire, the air was brisk, and the nights were good and cold- just right for snuggling! we went hiking, thrifting, antiquing, did nothing, ate till i was stuffed , drank till i got silly, watched the sun come up over the mountains while sitting in the hottub- and the watched it set again in the same hottub, sat up late and told stories around the fire pit, and generally relaxed. then i came home to find my business did about $2000 while i was away. wyllow had a wonderful time and cant wait to go again- my nephew ,sonny, took friday to himself and hiked around the mountains all day. he looked so much better when he got back- much less stressed. i KNOW he'll want to go again. next time we'll bring out motorcycles up and ride the tail of the dragon together. he'll have to take it easy for me , though. he's got a crotch rocket, while ive got a big cruiser, and i wont even be able to keep up, so he'll have to be patient with this old man. lol. all in all- the thrip i still too short, but im working on adding another day to it. life is good. and a good time was had by all...
met wyllow at the cattle ( my new term for the castle, due to all the cows and bullshit i find there) for halloween- and had a ball- there must have been over 1000 ppl there and the line was still around the corner as we were leaving around 1am. i got there early and danced for hours while everyone else tried to get drunk...i miss having the floor all to myself, and it felt great to just fly to really good music all night- i aslo kept running into peeps i havent seen in years, it was awesome to see them and everybody was nice enuf to ask how the gallery was doing- and commented on how cool my kilt was. i was just comfortable last night- no heavy makeup or crap- just the kilt - and my flogger, and i whipped a few peeps lightly for fun. wyllow and i got to dance together for a few songs and she kept looking to see if i was going "commando" and giggling like a schoolgirl. it was sooo much fun. cant wait to get her out to the cabin and spend some alone time out in the woods , and in the hottub, ect, ect, ect... blue ridge- here we come!
